We made a survey on how poverty affects education, 26 people answered and the results were the following.
1.- The first question was what are their thoughts on poverty
The majority thought that it is a current worldwide problem which should be eradicated and that it is due to the government.
2.- The second question was what they think is the main cause of poverty
Of the four options of reasons we gave in percenter 46.2 % answered that the main cause is lack of education (as shown in Picture 1.2).

3.- On the third question we asked people in what country do they think poverty had higher rates, and the answers we got were:
As shown in Picture 1.3 most people associate nigeria with bigger rates of poverty.

4.- On question four we asked if people thought that poverty could have a negative effect on a child’s mental health, all of the people that answer the survey (Picture 1.4) thought that indeed it affects them being on a poverty situation.

5.- On question five we asked people if they think that poverty and education are related and almost everyone agreed that they are, just a little percentage of the people said that it’s not. As shown in Picture 1.5.

6.- On question six we asked people how they think that poverty affects kids education and we got different answers as expected. Some people agreed that poverty denies kids access to education because they don’t have the resources to attend to school or sometimes they focus on their jobs (if they work) to provide basic needs to themselves or to their families. Some said that it affects their learning because everyone have basic needs and if some of them are absent it affects their performance. Others said that the education that they have access to is a bad quality one so they don’t have the same opportunities as other kids.
7.- In this question we asked the people interviewed what would they do to fight poverty and we got plenty of answers, some examples are: Create campaigns to educate, feed and give shelter to people that needed it, create sustainable jobs for people in need, improve level of education, try to make education more accessible where they lack of it, and buy from local vendors instead of big franchises to help create and keep jobs for people. A lot of people also thought that making the government improve minimum wages would help a lot of people because it would give them more economic stability and a better chance of succeeding in life and also giving or creating scholarships for people who are willing to work hard for their future would be an excellent idea for the younger generations.
